Daryl is available to host or moderate your virtual event or conference.

Who am I? I'm a regular guy who had a role in the public eye for nearly 40 years. Being genuine is extremely important, professionally and personally, and is vital for connecting with people.

A Trip Down Memory Lane...

I’m proud to claim two home towns: Edmonton and Vermilion. Early childhood was in Riverdale and Terrace Heights neighbourhoods before eventually moving to a farm north of Vermilion. Radio and Television Arts at NAIT beckoned in 1981 and 17-year-old Daryl arrived anxious to begin a career as a radio disc jockey! It became clear early that news was a much better choice!

18 month stints in Lloydminster and Prince George led to my start at CFRN Television in 1986 as weekend anchor/reporter. At the age of just 25, I became co-anchor of CFRN Eyewitness News at 6:00.

My wife Mary and I live in Parkland County with our giant dogs Shadow and Stella along with cats Snax and Nibs plus our senior horses Jake, Cool and Snowman.

Little known fact: Mary and I played polo for about 15 years. We called it beer and potato chip polo … not champagne and caviar! It was still something few people get to do. We were fortunate to be able to be part of a community of camaraderie and friendly competition for as long as we did.

Now … horsepower on two wheels is the draw. I have a vintage 1976 Honda CB 750 given to me by my father-in-law. Fully restored, it is great on short or long rides on the open road.
